Everyone had a fantastic time at the annual Decatur Rotary Foundation Fundraiser held Thursday (5/18) evening from 6:00PM until 9:15 PM at the Independent Distilling Company at 547 E College Ave!  The Oakhurst Market catered the event and we had wonderful silent auction items in addition to the Big Green Egg Raffle and the Live Auction of tickets to the Bourbon Tasting hosted by Dan DeWoskin/The DeWoskin Law Firm.

Football Legend Visits Decatur Rotary

We were graced by football royalty this week when legendary player and coach, Bill Curry, interviewed his wife, award-winning author, Carolyn Curry, about her new football murder mystery novel, Sudden Death.

Written by a woman who has spent her entire life married to a football player and coach, the book explores serious themes including sports gambling, alcoholism and spousal abuse.

Famed WSB Anchor, John Pruitt, Discusses His New Novel

An African-American serviceman is gunned down on a rural Georgia road in July 1964. This shocking murder ensnares a wide range of characters including the journalists who cover it, the lawmen who must solve it, the civil rights leaders who capitalize upon it, the politicians who exploit it, and the Atlanta magnate who fears its impact on the New South image he desperately wants to protect.

Rotarian Emory Morsberger Helps Ukraine

Tom Adams introduced our speaker, Rotarian Emory Morsberger, who spoke about his recent trip and efforts to help Ukraine.

Emory began his remarks by passing around a piece of shrapnel he had picked up off the ground in Ukraine and remarked what this could do to the human body and the urgent need for medical supplies. He stated several times that for him and many others in the Atlanta Rotarian community, it was not enough to simply write a check to help.
