On Friday June 28th, the Club thanked outgoing President, Doug Tozzi, for his year of leadership and welcomed the incoming President, Dudley Larus, as well as the new President Elect, Alison Weissinger. The meeting featured the ‘Passing of the Gavel’ Ceremony and we heard from the incoming President on his plans for the year. Plans include engaging with all members and asking them to select a Board Area such as Service projects or Membership and working with a Board member on one of the many committees associated with that area of the club. Also provided was a review of the recent, 'Club Satisfaction Survey' that showed that the club was doing most things well, but the survey pointed some areas where we could improve. This will help the new Board Members and Officers.

We Connect People
Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Dud Larus
If you have a heart for service and giving back to your community, you are an excellent fit for the Decatur Rotary Club. Our motto is ‘Service Above Self’ and we try to live this every day. We also have great meetings in the Historic Dekalb Courthouse in the heart of Decatur every Friday at 12:15pm where we have a fantastic lunch catered by the Oakhurst Market. In our meetings, we engage with some of the brightest minds in our community as we hear from speakers from business, government, healthcare, entertainment and non-profits who tell us their stories.
Beyond becoming involved in your community, we also offer personal development, professional networking, and camaraderie with fellow members. We are pro local business by supporting them, learning from each other, and by serving as a business referral source for fellow Rotarians.
I am grateful for the fellowship I find at our gatherings and service projects and believe you will be also. Please consider joining us. We'd love to have you.
Dudley Larus, President 2024-25

The Story on Club
Banners
One of Rotary’s most colorful traditions is members’ exchanging club banners. Clubs display their own decorative banners at meetings and district events, and Rotarians who travel to other countries often take these banners to exchange with the clubs they visit.
