Chris Harvey grew up in Dunwoody and graduated from Marist High School. He then

achieved his goal of becoming a Homicide Detective.
He served as the Chief Investigator for the DeKalb County DA Office (where he

In July, 2021, he was appointed as Deputy Executive Director of the Georgia Peace
Officer Standards and Training Council or POST (the state agency responsible for
setting training standards for, as well as certifying and sanctioning all peace officers in
Georgia.)
Chris is a founding member of the Committee for Safe and Secure Elections (CSSE)
which is a collaborative, non-partisan group of law enforcement and elections experts
formed to help law enforcement and election officials work together to respond to
threats to election officials and to intelligently integrate law enforcement in securing
elections. Chris lives in Decatur with Cathy, his wife of 28 years, where they have raised
their four children. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, reading, public speaking,
teaching and training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
