Climate
Bob O'Brien, a retired telecommunications executive with a 40-year career, now divides his time between addressing climate change and enjoying tennis. Holding degrees in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA, Bob brings technical expertise to his advocacy work. An Atlanta resident since 1992, he is actively involved with Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL) as the Northeast GA group leader and an En-ROADS Ambassador. Bob leverages his engineering background and leadership experience to drive climate action in his community.
En-ROADS is a powerful, user-friendly climate simulator developed by MIT Sloan School and Climate Interactive that allows anyone to explore the impact of various climate solutions. By adjusting sliders representing different policies like renewable energy adoption, carbon pricing, or deforestation reduction, users can immediately see the projected effects on global temperature, energy sources, and emissions. We will use this tool as a group to explore to understand the complex dynamics of climate change and make informed decisions about potential solutions.
