Scholarship Awarded to Decatur High Student

Luca Alvarez (Decatur High class of 2025) received this year’s Decatur Rotary scholarship. An awards dinner hosted by the Decatur Education Foundation was attended by President Dudley Larus, Mayor Patti Garrett, Superintendent Gyimah Whitaker, City Manager Andrea Arnold, and other community leaders.
Luca plans to attend Georgia State University and study neuroscience and sociology. Click here to read more about Luca.
The Rotary Club of Decatur Foundation Scholarship is an award designed to support the mission of the Rotary Club to promote ethical business practices, peace and goodwill in local communities and the world. The recipient each year must demonstrate a strong commitment to community service.
